New Podiatry Self-Referral

ACE has launched a new self-referral pathway for patients.

Adults can self-refer for

  • Foot Ulceration
  • In growing toenails
  • Heel pain workshop for heel/plantar fasciitis
  • Biochemical problems (foot and leg pain)
  • Diabetics with risk factors and foot pathology e.g. corns/deformity
  • Immuno-suppression with foot pathology
  • Peripheral Vascular disease or neuropathy with foot pathology

Please do not refer yourself for

  • Minor foot problems or basic foot care (corns, callus) in healthy individuals
  • Minor foot problems in patients with osteoarthritis, joint replacement in absence of other significant factors
  • Routine or basic nail care (only patients with pathological nails such as grossly thickened/ingrowing nails for surgery
  • Low risk Diabetics or diabetic requiring basic nail care
  • Verrucas
  • Fungal nail and skin infections
